In a presentation on Administration Priorities and NIH Policy Updates, Dr. Lyric Jorgenson reviewed lessons learned from COVID.
“We found out that a lot of people thought that scientists weren’t telling the truth. That’s because evidence was changing and so was the opinions changing alongside the evidence that’s part of the process.” (19:48)
Sorry, Dr. Jorgenson. Officials at NIH repeatedly lied about the origins of COVID, made up a social distancing guidelines out of thin air, and forced mask mandates on kids without any science supporting it. People thinking scientists weren’t telling the truth was because… they weren’t.

Dr. Lyric Jorgenson took the opportunity to promote an NIH Sexual and Gender Minorities panel. A “sexual minority” is someone who isn’t heterosexual, while a “gender minority” is defined as “Individuals whose gender identity (man, woman, nonbinary, and additional identities) or expression (masculine, feminine, nonbinary, and additional) is different from their sex (male, female) assigned at birth,” according to the CDC.
Someone that is in leadership at NIH should be the last person promoting something that is contrary to basic biology.
